Camille Paglia's Disco Playlist
In an article at Salon.com today, author Camille Paglia takes aim at Madonna's latest release of tepid dance songs, Confessions on a Dance Floor. In the article she champions dance and disco music as music of the highest form, even inspirational. Well, I don't know about that. In any case, Ms. Paglia offers up her own playlist, calling it "a history in songs: from soul and funk to disco, 1960s-80s." It makes for funky Friday afternoon listening (into the evening, as the playlist clocks in at 6.8 hours!).Listen to the Disco Playlist. Features classics from Isaac Hayes, Sly & the Family Stone, Donna Summers (a lot of Donna Summers), ABBA and Curtis Mayfield.
