Let's Get Down to Business Now

In the rush to discover and hear new music, bands and singers inevitably get overlooked. One such recently has been Mike Doughty, former front man for Soul Coughing. I blogged about him back in March and linked to his earlier release Rockity Roll. Last week the new album came out and it's quickly become one of my favorites of the year. A published poet as well as accomplished songwriter, the catchy rhythms and flourish of words on Haughty Melodic will easily have you tapping your foot at your desk while you work. At least it does for me.

Also featuring Brendan Benson, The Go-Betweens and live Morrissey. Check out the whole show playlist at the Yahoo! Group for The Sunday News, in the 'Files' section.
